Dying embers spike through smoke-strewed skies
charcoal etchings of brimming fog
sit on a smoldering horizon.
Seething planets spill
in a tempest of illumination
and the tears of galaxies form shadows of creation
fractured swept away
compressed by opaque memories
as whispers carry through thumping vessels
and hollowed roots.
The window’s latch is shut
but the dark keeps cascading in.
The mangled earth
clinging to it’s axis
has finally decayed into long-deserved
